Internship with ETS Performance Shelby Township in Summer 2023, where I 

taught running mechanics, plyometrics, speed sessions, strength sessions,

college and team trainings, modifying exercises to fit individuals, progressing

exercises for athletes, and observed how their programs were written in different

Job Experience:

Olive Garden, Mount Pleasant Mi — Server/Bartender

June 2021-Present

This job has me taking people's orders, making salads, desserts, opening and closing out checks. Handling my own bank to close out checks. I am also a  bartender and this job requires me to make drinks for the other servers during the night while I do handle my own tables at the same time. I cash out servers at the end of their shift to take care of the money the restaurant made that night. I Restock beer and liquor and also make mixes for drinks. I also handle the deposit at night for the service part of the restaurant. This job also has me training new staff, teaching them the steps of service, how to take tables, how to interact with customers, how to cash out tables and count money/tips and most importantly how to work well as a team. Working 30 hours a week during the school year.

General Nutrition Center(GNC), Mount Pleasant Mi— Store Clerk

July 2022--Present

For this job I sell vitamins and different supplements, and sports drinks. I take the responsibility of counting money, learning about different vitamins and supplements, I also do inventory and stocking shelves with products, and taking online orders. Working 10-20 hours during the school year.

August 2018-May 2021

Learned the anatomy and physiology of the human body. I have some background in kinesiology and exercise science courses in which I trained an individual and wrote a plan to reach their fitness goals doing weekly check ins. Also took nutrition classes to learn what macronutrients are to find the human body's daily needs of calories and give general nutritional advice. Took business and marketing courses to extend my knowledge in which I learned the steps to start and grow my own business and come up with my own products and learn how to sell them. Continuing my degree through Central Michigan University.

I have learned basic biomechanics and how to assess body composition, range of motion, FMS testing and record heart rate and blood pressure at rest and during exercise. I have also learned how to take someone through different progression and regressions of exercises i.e. squat, deadlifts, learned how to take someone through VO2 max tests and submaximal tests, manual muscle testing,  manual muscle movement, and write an individualized workout program to fit a client's needs. I have also learned RPE(rate of perceived exertion), linear and undulating program designs, and how to program for different populations i.e. geriatric, pregnant, adolescents. I also know how to train a client in person, fit different machines or equipment to the individual, apply appropriate exercise cues and give general nutritional advice. I have also taken courses on sports nutrition.

 

In my last semester I have taken on my own personal training client, writing individualized programs weekly, assessing body composition, submaximal VO2 YMCA bike test, administering max strength tests, and teaching technique.
